OnePlus initially engaged Spark to handle its consumer PR needs in 2019. The program quickly evolved based on changing client team dynamics, and the then-impending OnePlus 7 Pro device launch. OnePlus leaned on Spark to assist with launch event media relations, reviews program outreach, ongoing coverage needs for the device’s lifecycle, and reporting. In the last three-plus years, Spark has been called on to handle consumer, consumer tech and business media relations for a variety of campaigns, launches and programs.
As the business relationship continued, Spark learned of various initiatives and activations the client wanted support on – including the promotion of marketing activations. Subsequently, Spark showcased its ability to engage with marketing press and secure coverage in Marketing Dive.
Additionally, Spark ideated and created strategic recommendations around consumer media activations that would open the door to new media relationships. Notably, the team worked to develop unique media mixers, including one at NYC’s Paint Box, as well as creative mailers that have generated meaningful coverage.
Over the course of the three-plus year business relationship, Spark has partnered with the client to facilitate a variety of major flagship device launches, as well as a variety of ear bud and other device launches, resulting in thousands of pieces of coverage. Spark has secured major feature stories in USAToday, Wired, CNN, Forbes, GameSpot, Rolling Stone, New York Times and many other top tier outlets.
