Speaking to Fast Company as part of its New New Rules of Business series, Laura González-Estéfani, president & CEO of The Venture City, wasn’t afraid to be direct. Inspired by the tumultuous events of 2020, the focus of the roundtable was on what companies can do to reshape the world for the better.
“I kind of don’t trust a lot of these companies with these amazing statements [about their commitment to diversity and inclusion]. You know, you just look around to your people. They’re all white Americans. I think it’s super important to state that you, at the end of the day, you lead by example,” González-Estéfani told Fast Company.
González-Estéfani wasn’t the only executive in attendance supplying straight talk. Also included were CEO of Whoop Will Ahmed, CMO of BlackRock Frank Cooper, and president and CEO of Tillamook County Creamery Association Patrick Criteser, to name a few.
